Summary

Batei Machaseh Square is an apartment complex that was built between 1860 and 1890 in the Jewish Quarter in the Old city. The purpose was to have housing for the poor and was initiated by a Jewish organization from Germany and Holland called "Kolel Hod". The compound was captured by the Jordanian legions during the War of Independence. After the Six Day War the square was renovated and the compound is now used as office space and a school
