Summary

The Jews who arrived to Odessa in the early 1820's were referred to as Brodski Jews because many of them came from the town of Brody. The synagogue building was built in 1863 in a Gothic Florentine style. This synagogue became the first Reformist temple in the Russian empire. Today the building houses the State Odessa Region Archives.
