The museum is located in two connected buildings; Casa de las Veletas and Casa de los Caballos. The Casa de las Veletas has a Moorish cistern, while Casa de los Caballos dates back to the 16th century. The museum offers its visitors the opportunity to view the remains of the first inhabitants, through historical artifacts and contemporary art.


The museum displays a vast array of art work and artifacts, including work from the Bronze Age stone steles, the oriental treasures, Iron Age animal figures, Roman mosaics, ethnographic items and the collection of 20th century Spanish art, without forgetting El Greco. The museum also offers 5 more rooms which display both domestic items and ceramics.


Free admission. Closed on Mondays.
