Summary

The municipality of Cologne, in the frame of the Regionale 2010, built an "archeological area" as an archaeological-historical museum. It arose between the historical Rathaus and the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum over the basement of the first Cologne synagogues and ritual bath. At present there are excavations on the designated site for the first time since 1950, in which part of the synagogue of the Jewish quarter should be uncovered.
