Summary

A residential building, with one facade to the street. The mass strongly emphasized, unifies all the floors. One balcony on each floor grooves the width of the facade, creating horizontal cuts and preventing penetration of the sun's rays to the rooms. Architect Richard Kaufman studied in Germany. He came here in 1920 and was appointed as city planner by the Mandatory government. The house was built for David Hachmi, the founder of the "Israeli Phoenix" insurance company.
