Summary

In April 2013, the 25th March of the Life will take place in Poland, marking the anniversary of one of the most meaningful dates of the Jewish calendar year, Holocaust Remembrance Day. Each year, over ten thousand Jewish youths from Israel and 35 other countries share the once in a lifetime experience of silently marching together down the three kilometer stretch which marks the crossing from Auschwitz to Birkenau, the two subdivisions of the largest Nazi concentration camp during World War II.

The march represents the culminating event of a two week educational tour of holocaust sites and memorials across Poland. Along the way, the students are accompanied by holocaust survivors who recount some of their painful memories of the war and its aftermath.
