Summary

The new Jewish cemetery was opened in August 1855 on Pilihovskih hills, near the street Ianovskaia. It buried such distinguished members of the Jewish community as Emanuel Blumenfeld, Emil Bull, Rabbi Schwabacher, Ehezkil Caro, Nathan Lowenstein. In 1875 the Jewish community of paved road (now Zakharova Street) moved to the new cemetery on Ianovskaia. In 1890 the cemetery was surrounded by a fence in a Neo-Romanesque style . In 1894 an office building was built near the main entrance to the cemetery. In 1912 a new predpohoronnoe room ( bet-Tahara ) was built in Art Nouveau style .
